A short video of the procession that I described in an earlier post. The procession starts at San Xavier church and ends up at the South Broadway Cultural Center which also has an art gallery and the community can submit their artwork that is related to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Dear Mother of God

Watch over us and guide us

Comfort and heal us

Without a doubt, a New Mexico painting depicting Our Lady, since the church in the painting is the San Xavier church here in Albuquerque.

This is the altar-screen at our parish, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, on Christmas Eve. The altar-screen is a 'replica' that was built about 8 years ago by parishioners  They built it to match the original which had disappeared in a church remodel in the '60's. They worked from photographs. It was a labor of love and getting it installed in our church was interesting as it is a massive and tall piece!

A crucial role in His plan

Salvation for man

The St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Albuquerque celebrates the feast day of our Lady of Guadalupe in a big way. A special mass, an evening procession-it is a bonding event for the community. The homes in the nearby area all do up their front yards with a shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe  I got to attend this last year and it is quite profound!

After mass and the procession, the crowd continues through the neighborhoods with the priest who goes from house to house bestowing a blessing on each home.
