Stairway to Shadows

Not a stairway to heaven (well, I guess it could be depending on your POV), but a stairway to shadows.

I had an early morning doctor's appointment at the Presbyterian Rio Rancho facility not too long ago. I think my check in time was 6:45 a.m. As I was heading upstairs to check in, the stairway was bathed in such beautiful morning light. Adding to this glorious light was the track lighting 'sculpture' and the shadows cast by the large window frame. So glad that the cell phone was handy as it gave me a chance to capture this small moment in time that speaks oh so loudly (if you're awake and there when it happens).
And check out the new link below for the Flickr photo stream set of all my 2012 SSS2 images! Because one can never have too many images of shadows, you know!
I hope you all had a great Holiday!

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2012 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account.

A lovely abstraction and distraction of light and shade....

6:45 AM is awfully early for an appointment, so the brilliant sun and abstract shadows offered a better wakeup than any cup of coffee! Nice pictures here and in your 2012 SSS retrospective too!

A most unusual, intriguing shadow moment! The mobile effect is so pretty and adds a magical abstract feel to the whole scene!

Great capture...and at that hour with a cell phone no less! A true photography you surely must be.
