Looking in the Rear View Mirror

ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. Over time, others have joined in to help host this wonderful and informative meme. We are now in our NINTH round! Some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "R".

Rear View Mirror

I actually have quite a good stash of rear view mirror images. Posting this image reminded me of that inventory and that perhaps I should put them on my Flickr photostream as a 'rear view mirror' set. I believe this one is on a really sweet T-bird car.  It was in mint condition (the car) and it was at an old car show that occurs in Albuquerque annually on Father's Day at Sagebrush Church. They have a huge parking lot and fill it with old cars the entire weekend and serve free hot dogs. Pretty cool, huh?

RIBS

Oh-I'm sorry! Did you think I was going to talk about them baby back ribs? I'm talking about them human being ribs.

Remember a while back I mentioned how I pass the time using my cell phone camera when waiting for the doctor to come in and see me for an appointment? It's amazing how much more quickly the time goes by when waiting like that, using your cell phone camera to occupy your attention with. And, you could take a picture of everything in that exam room for future ABC posts. If ever 'caught', I would truthfully tell what the images are for (because, doesn't everyone know what a meme is??). I can just imagine the confused and rattled looks one would get after making such a confession.

Some people think that if they did this idea that they would be copying me and that I would be upset. Just know that I would encourage you to do this because I know that everyone else out there would come up with different results. Which would make it all the more interesting.

REEDS

Although it is kind of hard to tell that these are reeds, they indeed are. They are a partial view of the reeds that come with those room diffusers.

And, on to a different kind of reed. I used to play the clarinet when I was in mid high school-clarinets are also known as a single reed instrument. I always had a bunch of reeds for my clarinet back then. They are made of bamboo and are thin on one end-which is the end that makes the sound. You always take your reed off before putting your instrument away. Before you put the reed back on to play the instrument, you stick that thin end in your mouth for a few minutes to moisten and soften the reed.

Love your variety of R words.
When I played clarinet in high school I was forever spliting or bumping my reed. That gets expenisive.

Ooh, would love to see the rest of the car that came with that rearview mirror, Paula.
I love the clarinet. I'll never forget hearing "Stranger on the Shore" by Acker Bilk for the first time. I was in high school and I immediately found myself a clarinet player to date. (Dreadful of me, I know, but I loved that music!) Now my youngest niece is learning to play. I heard her in the background when I phoned last week, and she sounded pretty good. I can hardly wait to visit them next week. I wonder how long it will take a 10-year-old to learn Stranger on the Shore.

Remarkable, as always, collection. I had a rear view mirror like that once but it was on a red 'Bird. Love those diffuser reeds but I sure can't play any sort of instrument. Ribs, I know. :)
