ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. Over time, others have joined in to help host this wonderful and informative meme. We are now in our EIGHTH round! Some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "W".
Whacky Wordle Cloud Tag
Wordle is a toy for generating
“word clouds” from text that you provide. Or, a URL and it will pick up the text from within the site. It is a web toy, really. This one is from my blog. It's whacky, I think!
WINE
By the glass OR
By the bottle! Either way is fine with me!!
WEEDS
I don't know about you, but even though these are considered weeds, I think they add beauty to the landscape.
These were all in a dirt lot by a shopping center.
I wonder if we should shift our perception of weeds and welcome them? You can view a few more weeds here.
And then, there has been the Wallow Wildfire. Wow, has it affected us here in NM! There have been so many smoky days. Gratefully, this past week was much better than the week before, but it still continues to deposit ash everywhere. Yesterday it smelled like smoke again. There were some days where it looked like we were socked in a heavy blanket of fog.
Some days the sun looked like this:
It was so eerie that I did a short video of it to show my family:

So sad about the wildfire. I keep reading about it here in Hawaii. All the best to you, Paula.
The wildfires all over the country are definitely a nightmare! But you do find the fun things for the letter of the day! Whacky Wordles looks like fun and I'm always for a wonderful wine! Hope you're having a great week, Paula!

Wine - what a wonderful word!!! Mine is chilling as we speak!
It's truly amazing how far the smoke has traveled from where the wildfire is actually burning. As for weeds, I was in a garden on Sunday that hid the weeds by letting them grow like they belonged there. I think most of the people who visited the garden didn't even know they were weeds.
I read that the AZ fires were heading toward NM. Scary stuff.

I love weeds, they are simply flowers growing where we don't want them to! Dandelions I especially like, they make good wine.

Beautiful wildflowers, Paula. They don't look like weeds.
And I know about wildfires. Smoke from fires in British Columbia will cross the Rocky Mountains, to make that red sky effect here in eastern Alberta, and, recently, smoke from a bad fire in Alberta crossed the Rockies the other way and ended up in central BC.
As Roger said, "Scary stuff."

Very scary. I was thinking about you living in NM and wondering how you were doing.
Its so sad to see much getting destroyed by the wildfires.
Wondered if you'd been inundated with the Wallow smoke. A sad thing. Wine makes my nose numb but I'm quite fond of weeds. And generally don't pull anything that blooms. My garden is a fictional plot. Love wordling...
Weeds can be lovely, but wildfires always a terrible menace.
How sad about the Wildfires, we hear about them here in Iowa in the news, the sun does look eerie, for sure.
I hope they are soon put out and things begin looking and feeling normal again.
I'd just have a glass of wine and watch the wild flowers grow. The mallow is very pretty. Sad to hear about your wildfires, they destroy so much natural habitat.
Beautiful weed!
Would love you to peek at my ABC. You are welcome to come by anytime, have a nice day!
I tell you I feel terrible that the Sacred Earth Mother is burning, and in such a large area. I know that this is a way Nature cleans itself, but I don't understand it. Thanks for the updates, and the video. It does seem very eerie, although I enjoyed seeing the birds flying back and forth towards the end.
I've never tried Wordle. I've seen it before. I'll try it.
As for wine, Grandpa used to mnake red wine at home. A cloudy rather sweet wine. We got a small amount in a juice glass when we were kids and visited. I don't drink much these days, although I love a glass of Chianti or Bardolino with pasta.
Good uses for "W".
Peace
