Toys In The Attic

Oh. Not in the attic, but on the shelf.
Don't worry, they're harmless!

I have random toys on the shelf above my computer and in my art studio. Reminders to keep things light and not take things too seriously. Although, you know, there have been many a time when I felt like that little guy in the orange suit in the bottom left of the photo. I was shutting down the lights in the room one night and only one lamp was left and this little scene caught my eye. Of course, when there's shadows involved, out comes the camera. Just so  you know, though, that these are not toys that I have gone out to buy-they are 'leftovers', or cast offs from my son when he was younger. I just want to make that clear!

See through

A vignette in my dining room window through the sheers. I've had this image sitting around waiting to be posted since the holidays (Christmas, not Easter). Which should explain the snowflake shadow. I hope! I was actually trying to capture the shadow of the birds that were coming to the feeder outside the window. It was like a shadow puppet play except with live birds. That file got 'truncated' so I can't post it or do anything with it (wah!). Maybe you can 'imagine' it??  : )

Actually, the baseball players on your shelf are sort of endearing. Grown-up toys that look shadowy and cool at the same time. The guy dressed in orange, not scary at all to us but scary to himself...

The snowflake and ornament combine to create a lovely shadow, and one that transcends all seasons for a truly artistic shadow...

PS: I like your Gravatar pic - the exciting and energetic artist in motion!

Had to laugh at the baseball bobbleheads, Paula.
Love the shadows on the curtain at Christmas, even if the birds aren't there.

It would be ok if you had bought the toys-I have to say that as I have a fair few myself and no children! I can imagine the birds!

Harmless? They look rather sinister to me! :-)

MY BLINGLESS SHADOW

A shadow’s an odd sort of thing;
It might have a nose or a wing,
A tail like a dog,
A bump like a log,
But one thing it has not is bling!

Bobbleheads? Really?? Don't we hold on to the craziest things?! I noticed I had a Diamondback baseball player bobblehead in Phoenix on a shelf...I don't even know who he is!! hehe. Love the snowflake shadow. I keep certain winter things up all year round, to keep me cool. Happy SSS.

I love both of these but that second one is my fave! It's gorgeous!

You asked last week how I made my blog banner? I just uploaded a bunch of pics to picasa and shrunk them down and moved them together on a blank page. Cropped and then did the rest in some other program called 'bannerfans'and it took the longest time. I'm not very good at stuff like that but thanks heaps for the compliment on it. And I'm so very sorry that I'm only replying now! Life has just been a bit crazy busy of late. I'm not a fan of crazy busy... :) xo
