Latch On To This!

On an old barn door, I spy a shadow...

...the shadow of a latch!

I was at the Bio Park in Albuquerque when I took this. What was kind of annoying (and I shouldn't have been) was that there was a small group of photographers who must've been out doing field work for some sort of class they were taking. Anyway, I was surrounded by said photographers. Quite like having bees buzzing around you! I don't think I would've felt annoyed had they been friendly and interactive.  No matter, I was there for shadows. Well, and textures and patinas that this old door had!

Strawberry Fields Forever

It's summer and fresh fruit abounds everywhere! Such luxury, I say! Even more so when you've dipped them in chocolate such as I've done here. We had some friends over the other night and we were sitting out in our patio. The sun was dipping down as it does every day before sunset. It cast these amazing shadows on the dipped berries. And, you bet your bottom booty that I excused myself long enough to retrieve my camera to get this shot while muttering to our friends something about a meme that I do and Shadow Shot Sunday. So, Roberta and Mac-thanks for putting up my my crazy shenanigans!  : )

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2009 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here and then select the "Shadow Shot" set.

Great shots for the day and I do love those strawberries! There wouldn't be any left to leave a shadow if I were near by! Have a great weekend!

The sad thing is that we hope that art is accessible to as many as possible - snooty photo artists can be selfishly arrogant. A shame.

Despite the unfriendliness of the crowd, you capture a great shadow of a latch...

The berries are sweet, but why not a delicious enhancement of chocolate? A perfect pairing!

Love the first shadow. It kind of looks like some form of calligraphy! And yummo to those choc dipped strawberries! You're very lucky that your friends didn't devour all of the choc-berries before you returned with your camera to capture that sweet shot!

The shadows on the strawberries are quite delectable...I bet they were disappearing readily as the sun set...and as always, show me the woods, faded decrepit...what a wonderful shadow cast by the latch...bummer about the snobs, but you got the best of them, the proof is in the shadow!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

I'm late to the shadow party, but I had to stop by and tell that this is a great capture. And the strawberries look good enough to eat!

Peace.
