ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. We are now in our sixth round-some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "K".
Taken with my cell phone pointing up as these were too high for me-they were above a fireplace in a tapas restaurant in Santa Fe. I actually took the image for the sake of the Shadow Shot Sunday posts, but I also think they are perfect for the letter, "K".
Often the obvious escapes me. This time it didn't! These knuckles belong to my son.
I like taking pictures of knobs. Well, and doors and windows and locks. It must be an amusing sight to a stranger walking by when I am in a public setting, but, no matter to me. This one was on the back of my sister's house in Hilo.
Of Southwestern lore...this image is not mine, but from the Wikipedia site (which is the link provided). Kokopelli images are quite popular here in NM. Over done if you ask me as it becomes a 'touristy' thing to sell. Even more amusing is most who buy the Kokopelli trinkets do not know the story behind this character. In all fairness, though, I think the same could be said for most of us here about not knowing the full story behind the significance of this character and it's origins.
As for Klee, Kadinsky and Kollwitz, they are artist's whose work I am enamored with. Many are familiar with Kadinsky's name, but not so much Paul Klee and Kathe Kollwitz. Of these three, Paul Klee is my most favorite...his work is fascinating.

Great shots, Paula, I like all your Ks. Nice light and shadows in the keys...and the knuckles look like a painting. I'm off to look up the story behind the kokopelli images...
Interesting. I always learn something new when I visit your blog. I am not familiar with those artists.
Nice pictures, great K:s
Paula, its always an adventure to visit your blog. I love your choices for K, especially the shadowsof the keys.
Marvelous captures, Paula, as always and what a great variety of Ks for the day. I'm a fan of Klee, don't run into many people that know about him! The kokopelli images are very interesting, I'm going to look up their story, too! Hope you're having a great week!

Great set of K shapes. There was a big Klee exhibition here last year, apparently this is rare occurrence because a lot of the paintings are in a delicate condition.
Great choice of K's!
Ooo K... Beautiful!
Paula, I've always been a big Klee fan as well! I've been traveling and have missed your great photography - i and j were great too - Truth and Consequences is such an intriguing place - we've been through there but haven't spent time.
Loved the knuckle and the knob too!
Thanks for sharing your letter "K" words.. that's cool!
Here's my ABC Wednesday --- K is for KITTEN
~hugs&kisses~
I am very familiar with K Kolwitz, some of whose work are displayed in a small museum in Berlin. Her WWII pieces are haunting.
K is for Kivas on my blog.
You're right that the obvious (e.g., knuckle) can often elude us. I HATE keys, mostly because I LOSE them regularly.
The shadows in the key photo would also have caught my eye. You did a great job in capturing the moment in time.
As a hobby-photographer, I fell for the Knob.
Great arrays of photos for letter K. I find this letter a bit hard ^_^. Thanks for dropping a comment at my blog I do appreciate it.

Knobs and knuckles feature in my ABC Wednesday post, too! 'My' knuckles are hairier than yours though. ;)
Love the keys - and though I did buy a kokopelli magnet while in Utah as a souvenir of all the wonderful rock art, I also did read about the history!
Very nice findings for K ! and I like these painters too, we had to copy their style in Art school !

Striking key photo! Door knobs are fascinating - and the knuckle looks ready to pounce! Excellent K's - Kokopelli has become a small SW icon.
Wonderful Ks! Beautifully depicted!
