ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. We are now in our sixth round-some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "G".
Oh, yes, yet another nonsensical alliteration with the title here!
It's good to be silly, you know.
Not of the Fred and Ginger fame, but the plant, the edible rhizome of the plant. This one grows in our yard in Kalae, Molokai (the house is rented out). If I was really clever, I could tell you what kind of ginger flower this one is, but alas! I don't know. But, what I do know is how I love the absolute perfection of each 'petal' of this flower. I also love the unusual color of it (a golden color).
This is near Hilo Bay. Just there in the midst of things. It doesn't look like it's working anymore (and I'm not a gear expert, so I have no idea once again it's purpose). The philodendron (the house plant you all know as the 'pothos') is taking over and winning.
I confess. I did post graffiti on the last round, but it does fascinate me. This is on a guard rail right at the trail head of Los Conchas trail in Jemez. Click on it to get a closer look at all the little dots of patterns from the rust and the paint.
Early summer afternoon with the sky above dark with clouds threatening to break out into a thunderstorm. The wind is gently beginning to whip up. The late afternoon sun make this field of grass seem to glow. It was magical and mesmerizing all at the same time. This is the kind of place those wood fairies run and hide in.

I like your photography. You are talented!
Great photo you have here. Thanks for sharing!
G is for Gold
Paula, That ginger is so exotic - beautiful symmetry, and I, too, am fascinated by graffiti. I think it is an art form - I'm sure some would disagree; I guess it would depend on how you define art. But I've seen some beauties in our travels.
I yearn to visit your neck of the woods in the not so distant future. I just read your comment on my post (thank you btw!) re The Wave. Be forewarned - it's difficult to get a permit - they run it like a lottery. We fell into ours a few years back as our hosts at the RV park had an extra set of permits for the next day - how could we refuse. Hate to go on and on, but it was an incredible experience though we did get rather lost (there's no trail), and it was hot; well worth the effort for sure!
Marvelous photos as always, Paula, and a great post. The ginger is incredibly beautiful! I've never seen it before -- cooked with it, but not seen growing. Hope your week is going well!

Gorgeous ginger! Great graffiti patterns. I have to say that I can see the wood fairies running in the grass.
Some ginger plants do have beautiful flowers. the ginger root is a must have at home, I used it in my Asian cooking.
Great photos. The ginger is beautiful, not seen it before. Also like the graffiti art. Great G post.
Great photo's.
Like your photos, so artistic.
Yes! It's good to be silly sometimes. Love your photos. Ginger is such a pretty plant before the roots are dug up. But, then we wouldn't have ginger COOKIES!
A wonderful collection of shapes for G. I never knew ginger looked like that, how beautiful, and how lucky to live where it grows.
Ginger is delicious! My favorite tea is Ginger lemon....It also has a very cool bloom. Your photograph is very pretty.
Happy ABC Wednesday. I am sitting out this round. I do miss visiting everyone so I thought tonight I would grab a cup of tea and come visiting....So glad I did too.
Namaste,
Sherry
The ginger IS nice, though the grasses really spoke to me as well.
Fun seeing this post as I eat a ginger cookie!
Love the ginger flower! Fascinating .. they don't grow here, of course, it's far too cold for them.
I have a fascination with graffiti, too, and I rather like this example. :)
