Kitchen Remodel

An all consumptive process that sucked up more than nine consecutive weeks of my life! Not to mention finances...

But, I did end up with something that I really love and spend a lot of time in!

There are a few more tweaks that need to be done, but for all intensive purposes, we can call this project "DONE"! If you click on the button that says, "view all images" you'll get a better 'tour' of the slide show as you will see the captions that go with the images. I tired to do the same shots thoughout the process and there is a series of the same view from start to finish. Just to give you some sense of perspective.

It was worth waiting fourteen years for!

Love your new kitchen and the red walls! I have red walls in my kitchen but still the builder's white cabinets that will go away some day.

I never would've thought of the red walls; it was kind of a serendiptous thing. It was the base coat for a faux finish that I was going to do. I ended up not liking the faux finish but noticed that the base coat alone looked really great with all the components. Thanks for stopping by!

Wow! This is gorgeous & looks exhausting to've gone through!! But well worth it.

I do have one question, though. Where do the dogs/cats eat now? :)
I'm assuming they have their own private space! :) :)

Congratulations!
Debi

Debi,
Oooo, what eagle eyes you have m'dear! The water dish got moved into the front hall entryway and the food dish got moved a little room in the back of our house which we refer to as our library (because all it has are bookcases and books in it). So, I guess they do have their own little private space! We have two kitties; one is Rocky (he's black and white like yours) and the other is Pepper (all black). They both came with those names.
No dogs! Except the teenage boys that come and go. They get referred to as, "dogs".

It looks FABULOUS!!! Congratulations on getting the job done. Very brave to use red in the kitchen - it would make me more hungry but these light colored cabinets help to balance everything out. Great job!

hi paula here i am! yeah!! i decided to join rachel at work today for her 8 hour shift so i could have a little on-line time to visit everyone without the pressure of connection issues.
what a fabulous makeover you have done! how ultra, ultra modern chic this is paula!! i love the colors; rich green and a kind of brick red is how it looks to me, and the two toned wood! very elegant!
thanks so much for your regular encouragement these past days that i have been away paula. it is so appreciated. like little hugs of encouragement that i really needed! i will be by to visit regularly once i get home :)
