Needless to say, the public art program in this city just started a couple of years ago, so the public art inventory is very limited.
Thanks to the New Mexico 1% for Public Art, it allowed for a small purchase for Fire Station 6 in Rio Rancho (due to the nature of how it was funded).
So, I headed out there to photograph the public art (it was a photograph collage).
Instead of showing you the public art I went out to photograph (I'm on the city's art commission; which is why I was on that errand to begin with), I'll show you the happy surprise-which was the sun shining through the garage that housed all the trucks and equipment. The fireman that was there offered to open the door so that I could get an unobstructed shot, but I opted to stay with the patterns that the glass on the door lent.
