I am always amazed when these bloom each spring. It seems to happen rather suddenly-one day it's just all so green and the next day-boom! A riot of purple. They make their appearance for a week and then they are gone until the following year. These are always the first to bloom and I've known them as Japanese Irises and require no effort from me at all to grow. What's there not to like?
Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Ah, a window into iris. I have daffodils and other Easter frills.
Just in time for Easter--and what sizzling colors!
Ah, the bold purple flowers jump at us, the intensity of color seeming perfect as Spring commences. It may go away quickly, but it did its job as we luxuriate on the longer, sunnier and warmer days. Happy Easter!
