My Peace Is There

My Peace Is There

my way is in the sand flowing
between the shingle and the dune
the summer rain rains on my life
on me my life harrying fleeing
to its beginning to its end

my peace is there in the receding mist
when I may cease from treading these long shifting thresholds
and live the space of a door
that opens and shuts
~Samuel Beckett

A must see if you are ever in NM is the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks. The making of it took place well over 6-7 million years ago from a catastrophic volcanic explosion.

It's a simple hike-perfect for kids, and very close to town (about a 45 minute drive from Albuquerque). I never tire of seeing the landscape here-in fact, I always find it to be quite magical. If you live in the area and you haven't been here yet, GO!!! Go early in the day as it is popular. It is a hike out in the high desert climate, so plan accordingly and most of all, soak it all in and savor the textures and surfaces of the landscape along with the ever changing light.

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

I love these formations! I see a lot of imaginary shapes that remind me of truest on a castle...or perhaps the seven dwarfs on their way to the mine or a number of things, A fabulous find you'd never find back east, a land of far more rock and far less (and blah colored) sand!

Looks a lot like the landscape in Cappadocia Turkey and the Badlands in Canada but the same circumstances and time gives the same resolutions its seems.
