Seeing Through The One Who Sees

One instant is eternity:
eternity is in the now;
When you see through this one instant,
you see through the one who sees.

Orchids in bloom seems like such perfection. They never seem to have any flaws-just this rareness, exoctic-ness that makes me want to just keep staring at them. The color and beauty is intoxicating. What is more amazing about this orchid is that it was given to me a year ago-complete with the full blooms. I get apprehensive about owning an orchid plant here in New Mexico-our climate is so dry that I have doubts about my ability to keep the plant alive long enough to see it bloom again. And, it did. You see, this was given to me by some friends when my dad and his wife passed 11 days apart about a year ago. I don't know if orchids have an internal time clock that tells it to bloom again a year later, but this one did. The first bloom arrived in time for dad's anniversary date. I think it's pretty cool that it not only survived a year with me, but bloomed right at the one year mark of their passing.

Amazing...

In the meantime, join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

my sympathies to you. Your orchid is lovely and magical to bloom on the anniversary.

Maybe the blooming of the orchid is a sign that all is not lost, and the "gone" are not really gone...

I think your orchid has become a small miracle for you. It really is beautiful. And the shadows round it are enchanting too.

Just keep although the flowers weathered.
After awhile, they will once again.
Mine is 7 yrs old and still blooming every now and then.

Happy weekend, pretty.

Hugs...

It's a lovely orchid awash with memories. How incredible that it knew exactly when to bloom.
