The Happiness Jar

Here we are. New Year. New day. New start. It sure came up on us fast! Now we need to get used to writing, '2015' on everything. Yipes.

Have you ever heard of the Happiness Jar? It's something writer, Elizabeth Gilbert came up with a few years ago. I just learned of it a few days ago and I think I may have to give it a go. After all, we're only in day 3 of the year, so there's not much catching up to do! Here's what she says:

"JAR OF HAPPINESS. I made a vow to myself years ago that every night I would write down the happiest moment of my day and save it forever. I did this for a long time. This photo is my most recent JAR OF HAPPINESS, loyally filled with little scraps of old bills and junk mail, with the best moment of each day scrawled on the backs. For some reason, over the last year, I have let the practice go—not because I've been sad (even in a sad day, after all, there is always one least-crappy moment) but because I've been too busy. Too busy to take 10 seconds every night to preserve the simplest and happiest moments of my life? ENOUGH! Time to start stuffing the jar with joy again! I'm beginning again today. Who's with me?"

Even if I didn't remember to do it each day, I'd still have a nice jar of Happiness, wouldn't I? Are you in?

And, I won't letting finding that 'right  jar' get in the way.

Here's what made me happy yesterday:

I love the idea of a happiness jar - it allows us to place into perspective how good things can be if we dwell on the positives...the bird did not let a trace of snow keep it from walking instead of flying - because he wanted to. A happy avian allows us to smile too :)

The happiness jar is a grand concept. A great way to ensure that happy moments are not forgotten moments. Beautiful art created by Mother Nature.

Happiness Book, I call mine and having it for 10 years.

So much to recall from one thing to the other, with my poems or just words that I found it rhyme and proud that 2 of my poems became a song to our Filipino-Swedish Idol winner. She still working on it. Funny.

great photo posts, my Molakai Giril

A Happiness Jar is just what I'm needing right now. Count me in! I love the bird track photos. It almost makes me wish for snow so I could see what walks around my garden. :-)
