Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Let us always meet each other with smile,
for the smile is the beginning of love.

I have decided to stick with love.
Hate is too great a burden to bear.
~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Ah, yes! It's a love fest in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day. These heart shaped leaves are of the anthurium plant that lives by my living room window. I figure I might get away with using them to mark Valentine's Day with!
Although, my husband and I do not really celebrate Valentine's Day (it's kind of insane to go out to dinner on VD when everyone else is trying to do the same thing, isn't it?). I mean, I'll make him a card and he'll probably get me a card, but honestly, I DON'T want flowers that cost an arm and a leg just because it's Valentine's Day nor do I expect a gift of some sort. Sometimes we do surprise each other with something, but it is spontaneous.
But, I'm not at all 'bah humbug' about VD. Nope. In fact, I consider myself to be one that loves romance. Let's not reserve it for that one day or two out of the year though! How about 365 days instead?
I think my favorite quote out of this group that I have posted here today is Martin Luther King Jr's. quote. Hate is too big a burden to bear, not to mention all the wasted energy involved.
And out of all the things we think we need in life, love is really all you need.
And it starts with a smile.
Come join us every week, as a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate - not necessarily in a flashy way at a fine restaurant - but being together, sharing lives and the appreciations of any couple by being as one. Together...great leaves and shadows, hearts as a symbol of love :)
I do love your plants, Paula!! Valentine's Day for me these days is just a day to remember to appreciate my family each and every day! Lovely post/pics/words for the day!! Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your weekend!!
Beautifully striking and distinctive shadows...
and i am smiling...great post!!
happy weekend!!
What wondrous shadows--layer upon convoluted layer!
Gorgeous bold shadow shapes on the leaves. And so love your thoughts on VD.
I love your second shot and the first quote is just inspiring. Courage and strength, great combination.
leave it to Mother Teresa to hit the nail on the head about love! I agree about dining out on VD; my hubby and I skipped that too. He hated to stand in lines for a chance to spend money. God rest his soul.
beautiful hearts!
