The ARt of Letting Go

Sweet little birdhouses make for sweet little shadows...

Although, these birdhouses are so small, I'm not sure if any birds would come to live in it! But sweet, nonetheless.

not be bent out of shape."

"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."

-Proverbs 23:7

Sometimes I have a lot to say (write), but yet, I can't say it. Does that happen to you? I've had a week full of unexpected drama. No, it had nothing at all to do with the election.  Or, politics, for that matter. But, suffice it to say, sometimes there are forces that occur in one's life that seem to be dead set on knocking you off of your path. In a nutshell, without getting into the details of what it was, that is what happened to me. By path, I mean, the path that I am on in my life. I'm sure you have all dealt with something similar on one level or another. It could be an event. It could be a person. It could be a person from an event. Any of those things. And more.
But I know that the unexpected drama I've dealt with this week pales in comparison to those who are still struggling with getting back the basic things in their lives from the destruction of hurricane Sandy. Pales.
And so, whatever it was that I wrestled with is nothing but a speck. A teeny tiny Whoville kind of speck.
I like that perspective. That Whoville sized speck is not worth fretting over.
And I release my troubles to the Greater Universe who is much wiser than I. And I gain my footing once again with trust.

The birdhouses leave a shadow, but perhaps a wren or other small avians might just find these to be perfect housing to raise a brood or two next year - a cozy family abode to be??

What is a challenge to many others as opposed to us is what happens daily. Should we be forced to deal with a bad situation, we hope that we look at all perspectives to muddle through without complaining. We seem to need to be affected by less than good tidings once in awhile so our perspectives are placed back in order...

I'd like to be flexible...
My path has a pleasant twist now - I experience something I'll never do again. Even if studying is hard this is rewarding part of my path.
Have a good week ahead!
ps. I use free PhotoScape - it's quick & easy.

Love your shadowed bird houses all in a row.

And as for your tiny speck of troubles, even tho others have "larger" issues...you still have a heart, and you still deal with what comes your way. So, at the the time the issue wasn't just a speck....MHO

"Blessed are the flexible ..." Awesome quote. And I love those birdhouse shadows.

Whatever your challenges were this week, I hope they have resolved themselves.

I love those birdhouses. As it happens my wife has started leaving bird food out for the birds that vist our garden. I've witnessed nature at its very best. How the sparrows fight over the food with the wood pigeons and the magpies. Yesterday a cat was prowling around, waiting for the right moment to jump on one of the little sparrows. It nearly happened.

Great post. Very heartfelt.

Greetings from London.
