The Element of Surprise

You see it, don't you? That look of surprise in this shadow face? That, "Oh, no, Mr. Bill!" kind of look.

Perhaps you didn't at first, but now that I've mentioned it, it is hard to miss. It's one of those 'don't look now' kinds of things.

And, someone please tell me what this belongs to. I have no idea. It is small. It might be plastic. I'm think a plastic grill to a toy car or truck?
These images are amongst the many toys and children's stuff that I posted a few weeks back (the abandoned house). Actually, the shadow on this one makes me think of a finch's head and beak (profile).

I'll admit it. I do 'see' things! Not embarrassed to admit it either. Between abandoned sites like this one and the incredible geology of this state, it is easy to 'see' things!

What things have you 'seen' lurking in the shadows today?

"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see." (Martin Luther King)

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2011 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

It's akin to the old saying about one man's gold is...shadows have been unearthed, and the more unique the treasure, the richer the shadow. Yet, the top one is really akin to the famous Mr. Bill's expression jut before Sluggo creates mayhem...cartoon and animation is such fun art!

The little, broken, seemingly insignificant things of the world often prod us to ask the most probing questions--if we keep our eyes and hearts and minds open.

I SO see it! I thought I was afflicted and I'm glad you have the same disease--"Oh No Mr Bill" is the only Caption that could explain him getting hit with what appears to be the grill of a car/truck! We had better investigate!

Loved the entire story-0-and keep that great eye looking around! GREAT SHOTS!

You have such a marvelous imagination! I love your reference to Mr. Bill.

I do think you live in a place with many fantastic possibilities for finding shadows. And it helps that the sun shines a lot too.

Great shadows. I love the "Oh No" shot. Oh the things we see in other things.
A few days ago I was at the dentists office and as the dentist was drilling my tooth I was looking at the tiles on the ceiling, beyond the bright light shining in my face, and seeing face images in the patterns on the tiles. I see things too!

I love the shadow that the first subject has created. Kinda like an entrance to a castle hehehe.

Captured beautifully! Thank you for your gorgeous contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday 2.

Shadows of Nothingness, have a blessed Sunday!

The first one is like a chameleon face - ever changing but always a face. And the second one reminds me of a grid on maybe a toy or covering a box! Fascinating!

I love your creative imagination. "Oh, No, Mr. Bill!" ha! I haven't thought about that in a long time.

Great shadow finds.

It does look like a toy car grill, or a "double wide" ladder.

thanks for stopping by!
