A Different Kind of Bicycle Shadow

can be found at a beautiful community development here in Rio Rancho called, Mariposa. They have a beautiful park and it offered this unusual shadow of a symbol of someone riding a bike (I think it indicated a bike path)

Too good to pass up, that's for sure! The park also offered many other fabulous shadow images.

I found them all to be very striking. Imagine. this occurs every day there-at least 330 days of the year (we hardly have overcast days here).

So, if you lived in this planned community development, you'd have this park to enjoy (and they have an enclosed community pool).

If we were not already so settled in where we are living, we would give this place a serious consideration-the views are spectacular and everything seems to be well thought out. Witness this park. Not to mention that I really dread the thought of ever moving again. I'm more of one to stay in one place that I call home.

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2010 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

How wonderful to hardly ever have overcast days! This week we have had awful weather!

2011 has been the rainiest year on record in Connecticut - can you spare a few of the sunny NM days for us?

The bicycle is neat, its sweeping arcs a contrast to the artistic but angular shadows from the trellis. It looks to be a fantastic place to live in the Land of Enchantment...

I think the thing I appreciate most about the Southwest is the big blue sky!

IF I WERE A SHADOW

If I were a shadow,
I would seek the light;
There I would glow sleekly,
Black and shiny bright!

Love the bicycle one especially. What a great find - well spotted!

I understand both the temptation to relocate to a great location and your horror at the thought of moving.

Great shadow shots and I think it would be a lovely place to live, but like you I do not like the thought of moving. Not. One. Bit.

Great news! SSS will continue! A little team is in place and they've even set up a lovely SSS blog. Hooray! The details will be revealed on my blog next Sunday & now I can look forward to continuing with SSS as a participant only. I'm too obsessed with shadows to not keep shooting them :)

I almost feel the warmth coming off your shots, but it's a balmy 21 degrees here today...ARGH...

Good news that a team is taking over the SSS, not sure if I'll be joining in as of yet, depends on how soon I get a new PC, but what fun meeting all these wonderful people and sharing bits of their world, it warms the heart and soul...take care friend, hope to be back soon.
