12 Days of Mary: Day 8

"it's not about religion, it is about sharing" (Rebecca Brooks)

The Annunciation (artist-unknown)

“I am the Mother of fair love,

...and of knowledge,

and of holy hope...

My memory is unto

everlasting generations”

Eccl. 24:24, 28, Douay).

today marks the eighth day of december and marks the day of the annunciation;
this being day eight of twelve days of mornings with mary.
everyone is invited.
while this is not about religion, it is about sharing,
about opening hearts, rejoicing in ultimate mother love.
it is about  light, beauty, inspiration, thoughtful regard.
a welcome chance to begin each new day together
in beauty and peace.

Come see what others have shared over at Rebecca's page. Feel free to join in with us

Had I been in Mary's shoes, I'm not sure what I would have done when the angel appeared with those tidings!

I once wrote a very satirical dialogue that might have gone on between Joseph, Mary and Michael the Arch Angel when Joseph got home from work and found out Mary was going to be a mother. Of course it was written as if it were modern times and on the streets of a ghetto neighborhood in some large US city. You get the idea.
I do like the painting. It looks surreal. Cool!

I have always been attracted to these translucent images and wanted to paint them myself, but have not got the patience!

Thank you
