The Best things in Life are Free

No one noticed this lovely vignette...

...off to the side of a Bed N' Bath store. Nope. They just scurried right by it making a bee line to and from the store with their coupons in hand to get that 20% off the entire purchase deal.

Looking for a bargain or two. And totally missing what could be had for free.

That's what this was. A slice of happiness for free. There was even a bench nearby this scene of happiness where you could sit down and soak it all in. For free. Sadly, there were no takers that day.

Perhaps that is a lesson learned for all of us. This learning to allow time to stop and enjoy those lovely things that cross our paths in our day to day life that we can enjoy at no extra charge.

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2010 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

This shopping center at least offers a southwest motif, unlike the stores up here that are glass and brick, minus the paint and arches...

I like Bed, Bath etc as a store. The marketing people have caught your attention with the coupon. Happily your camera was in tow, so you save money ad capture photographic art - that you will never need a coupon for to enjoy!

I do agree, it is easy for people to get caught up with the idea of saving some money and completely miss the beauty that is frequently there to be seen and enjoyed! Great reminder for the day, Paula! Hope you have a great weekend!

But there WAS one taker: YOU!

A PARFAIT DAY

A seeker of shadows one day
Did trip as she went on her way;
She picked herself up
And dipped from a cup
Of shadowy lemon parfait!

Obviously no one but you. I have also noticed the same phenomenon with rainbows when driving. People just do not see or appreciate what is directly in front of them.

Well spotted, and good on you for not getting caught up in the needless acquisition of 'stuff'. I love the shot which reminds me of a zebra, but also your painting on the left of the coconuts.
Your previous post was fun, lots of shadows in escarpments!

You are so right, Paula. Beauty is all around us, if only we're willing to see it.

That's a great shot! I was wondering the other day if we had seen a shadow shot opportunity if we both would have taken a photo and posted it. That would have been cool! I had fun, thanks so much.
This is a cool shot!

Peace.
