Salty Shadows

When they said, 'eat your fiber' I don't think they were talking about this!

It was a lovely fiber arts exhibit at a gallery in Silver City. I'd tell you the name of the gallery if only I could remember it!

Hawaiian Salt

I keep a little jar of Hawaiian salt out in the patio where the BBQ grill is. That's because I use the side burner to cook on during the warmer months of the year. Hash browns are done out here a lot and I must say, it is nice to be able to cook outside. I get to cook, 'al fresco'! This Hawaiian salt is a combo of the red and the white sea salt. I forget as to why I was out there at that time of the afternoon, but I couldn't help but notice the cool shadow cast by the salt container and the shadow of the window screen on the tray (click on the image for a larger view). You all know the drill-run in and get your camera before someone interrupts you!

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2009 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here and then select the "Shadow Shot" set.

The salt is artistic, its crystals a lovely pink and white. The shadow is as artistic as the food you grill...Fiber? I need more and not just because I am aging - actually, all ages could use more of it. Artistic or not!

Good stuff. I like the shadow of the screen on the salt and the table, but the fiber shot is a fabulous find.

hehe. Fiber. Now adays that is what my dr. is refering to when he asks me if I'm "getting any". (Bad joke. Sorry I had to.) Summer time in Phoenix taught me to rely of using the outside grill. Never turned on the stove in summer! Happy SSS to you.

Great shadow shots. And you know how much I love Silver City. So many newer galleries since I ghad my shop/studio there in 2000. Great image of the words from the window on the picture inside the shop. Very cool!
I've been here looking at your last two posts and didn;'t leave a comment. Just wanted to let you know. You coiuld have used my name for the "J" you know. And of course I would be sitting there looking pretty, two posts in one!
Have a great weekend.

Peace.

I like the idea of sitting outside eating hash browns. Yummy hash browns seasoned with sea salt! Yum!

Both your shots are very cool!

Wandered into your blog today by noticing your blog name. I gew up in S. CA, but have lived on Oahu the last 28 years. Parallel homes call to me as well.

And I loved the salty shadow.
