MASK
A really giant mask for a really giant puppet in an annual giant puppet parade sponsored by Off Center Art Gallery in downtown Albuquerque.
MACRO
Hey-I've got tons and tons of macro shots, so I think it best that I start sharing them with others! I loved the 'fuzziness' of this succulent plant. Look closely (click on the image to enlarge) and you can also see a bit of spider web here and there...
MONASTERY
I know I've posted other images from this monastery: Christ in the Desert, located in Abiqui, New Mexico. It is so beautiful and peaceful there-truly a slice of heaven. You can go and spend a few days there if you like, but you must not speak while you are there. Can you imagine a weekend of pure silence? Monastic life does have some very good qualities about it. I know it sounds strange to be saying it, but it does. The monks who live there (those that you do see) are so full of joy and peace.
MAYOR
Our Mayor of Rio Rancho, Tom Swisstack (on the far right) who came out to the art reception for the Rising Stars: Rio Rancho High School Senior Art Show 2010. He was there to present the awards to the students. I didn't notice any other city government officials attending this event, such as our City Councilors. You would think they would want their young, of age, voting constituents to know who they are! Ahem...enough said, yes?
And, I'm afraid I've done it again! No muddles or murky mires or mayhem were used in posting this blog! Just another one of my many silly titles!

nice pics! I bought an Acer Aspire One netbook last night. Cool thing to use in a pinch or when I am on vacation.
Good collection of M's; I particularly am drawn to the mask. I think I'd like to stay at the monastery for awhile.
Love your "Silly" titles. I always wonder where you are going to go in your ABC Wednesday posts. Another delightful use of M.
Great mask.
The woman in the bottom pic looks familiar.

Love all your Ms as always, Paula, and particularly your "silly" titles! Never, ever too much humor these days!!! Great post for the day and I love your photos. The monastery looks wonderful! Hope you have a great week!

Great M's...Wonderful shot of that succulent plant, so many details when enlarged. I love the monastery also.
But lots of cool photos, tho'... I really like the succulent and I DID enlarge it to look for the spider web. I love doing macros, too. :D
Great M post! It was fun to read.
Paula, That monastery is very beautiful - kind of reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright with a SW twist. I really enjoyed this post!
Great photos! That close-up of the fuzzy plant is really cool!
The monastery made me think. I once had a chance to go to a program at a monastery, but I wasn't ready. That one also had silence and food was going to be scarce. I traveled with many Japanese Monks on The Longest Walk II in 2008. Many of them are good freiewnds and are simply delightful.
I regret that I won't be around for the Rio Rancho car show this weekend.
Oh, and Thank you for turning me on to the Cigar Box auction!
Peace.
Your photo brought back a lot of memory of our trip to New Mexico. It is such a colorful place. We visited Ghost Ranch at Abiquiu of O'keeffe, it was closed and could not get in but saw the most amazing light over the desert.
I sometimes think it would be very restful to stay in a monastery with a silent order. Good for the soul!
My site is back up now, if you tried earlier and failed. ;)
