One of MANY Colorful Doors
The town called Truth or Consequences got it's name from the game show that went by the very same name. Long story, but some folks who live there would like to keep the current name and others would rather go back to its old name of, Hot Springs, NM. At any rate, it is a small town that has a mix of wonderful art galleries, a handful of really neat thrift stores (second hand things), and many, many, old motor lodges. Most of these motor lodges call themselves B&Bs (bed and breakfast inns) and have 'baths' on site where you can go soak in a large tub in natural hot spring mineral water. New Mexico has quite a few places that have hot springs. The most well known is Ojo Caliente.
A lot of the buildings along the main road have been painted bright colors and the doors are painted in a different bright color.
Early Morning=Great Shadows
Right outside the door to our room!
Have you ever noticed that when the sun is at a certain angle the shadow is clear and sharp? Then it gets out of that range and becomes fuzzy on the edges (such as this shot).
Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Love the aqua, it too reminds me of the old motels of Florida back in the day...the sun, the sand and the surf...ahhhhh...some day!!!
The stucco is resplendent in a minty green, not hoe we easterners think of the west. A red door calls our attention to this bold portal. The wrought iron shadows are sweet, in either the crisp form or the wavy style. The potted plant looks like a perfect replication of the original, the sun leaving such great definition...an artistic look at a wonderfully artistic place!
Very colourful photo and great shadows too!
Super photos and an interesting post!
Beautiful details and delicious colors! Nice capture of the shadow shot too.
What a striking color combo..lovely shadows..
Happy SSS.
I would love to soak in a hot tub. I wonder what the hot springs are like at this time of year.
What a fun door! Like the sharpness of Shadow Shot #2 & the soft fuzzies of #3. Happy SSS!

Love that door picture! When we visit other cities, I just love to take pictures of doors - quirky, but....that is just what I like :)
Nice observation about fuzzy shadows - now I'm going to try to keep an eye out for that change!!
Have a great week Paula!
love the palm shadow! fitting for Palm Sunday!
I have noticed that about shadows, now that you mention it. There is a small window of time when the light is just right, and then it's gone.
Love the color and texture in your shadow shots!
I didn't realise I liked shadows so much :0) Great shots!
what a lovely door, the colours are wonderful, so vibrant
Behind the red door,
saints and sinners congregate
to share their secrets.

I LOVE Truth or Consequences! It's a must-stop anytime I'm driving through New Mexico! Elephant Butte Lake is beautiful too. Make sure you stop and get a green chile philly from the Happy Belly Deli! Great photos, especially those leaves, so sharp!
