Seeing Double

A lovely patterned shadow cast by a wrought iron gate...

It almost does not seem fair that one of the many nice perks about living in the Southwest is the abundance of sunshine. Here in New Mexico, we have an average of 300 days of sunshine annually. We forget what it is like to have overcast days, let alone rain! And, because of that, there is an abundance of shadows. So, if you are feeling shadow deprived too often in your neck of the woods, consider a visit to the great Southwest!

And, yes, it was the neat pattern of this shadow that prompted me to 'capture' it. What I did not see at that moment, but I do see it clearly as I post this, is that the shapes resembles eyes. A double set of eyes staring back at you! Kind of like the Egyptian style eyes.

Once you see it, you can't NOT see it! Gosh, somebody stop me...

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Whooosssho! 3rd time I knocked your door and can't come in. TY God, she let me in.

Very pretty with the dark shadows means you have a very sunny day, huh?

Am drooling the hot of the sun.

Happy SS, girl and enjoy the w/end.

I love wrought iron shadows, too and for the same reasons Catherine expressed. I do, however, have more problems finding shadows than the two of you -- well, at least these days. This one is terrific and, yes, I do see the EYES!! Have a great weekend, Paula!

LOVE your shadow, it is a beautiful pattern. And after reading your post, you're right, I see the eyes, and once you see them, you Can't NOT see them, as you said!! Nice job! Wonderful SSS, and I loved your post about it!!!

Yes...the eyes have it!!! way cool girl!

The problem with visiting the Southwest, is you never want to leave it...I love the desert and would love to settle there in the shadows of the heat of the day!

Have a great weekend...I'll be shoveling snow...again!

Very ornate in heavy iron, the sun allows for a scrolling shadow, a neat style. Not modern at all, the wrought metal is lovely under the day of sun - the Land of Enchantment!

Hi Paula

Thanks for visiting my blog. You asked what the plant was in the vase. I'm afraid I don't know its name, but it's a native plant which was growing in the front garden when we moved in.

Hope you have a lovely week.

Regards

Robyn
