January's Jet Plane

ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. We are now in our sixth round-some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "J".

JALOPY

You'll find MANY a jalopy throughout the landscapes of New Mexico, that's for sure! This one is located in Abiqui, not far from the Abiqui dam.

JASMINE

One of my favorite teas to drink (it transports me, this one does) is the Jasmine tea. Particularly the Jasmine Pearls. So fragrant and calming. I might add that I am also enraptured with the jasmine flower-especially the one that grows in Hawaii called, Pikake. They make flower leis out of them and leis are worn for many special occasions. A must for prom accessories. For my high school junior and senior prom, I asked for Pikake leis. The fragrance of the flower infuses itself into my hair (I have long hair) and stays with me for a day or two. Mmmmmm....

JADE

My mother's jade jewelry (oops! yet another 'j' word) and a jade rock that my sister sent me ages ago. Both have a special meaning to me and I cherish them.

JANUARY'S JET PLANE

Yes, that is January's jet plane that you see here. Why January? Because that's the plane that I took to go home to Hawaii in January.

Jump for joy! There you have it- the line up for "J's"!

My mom always referred to her jalopy as the jitney, her unlicensed junker-"taxicab" that drove us to school each day. <-- YAY! A couple more "J" words! Thanks for the trip (or should I say journey?) down Memory Lane!

jasmine pearls! one of my top three favorite teas! I asked my husband to pick me up a tiny bit the other day and he was horrified to find out they were 70 dollars a pound (he only got an itty bitty, bit, luckily a little goes a long way with those things!). Such tasty tea! Good J post!

What a great collection of J's! I would love to use that jalopy as a background for some pictures. Very pretty!

Nice choice of 'J' words, and pictures to match.

A jalopy has never looked so good. Jasmine is one of my favourite teas too. I was given some large ones at Christmas, almost too pretty to drink as they unfurl into flowers.

A fun J story. Pikaki is such a heady fragrance. I love it too.
Beautiful jewelry too.

Ah, jasmine and jade! Makes me jump for joy, for sure! I'm hoping my old car hangs on longer than the jalopy did!

Hi, I couldn't respond to your comment via email as your comments aren't connected to your email. At any rate, I am not going to use your image, I was saying I would like to take people to that car and shoot there. Do you see what I mean? Thanks for the offer though :) If I ever need a jalopy image I will be sure to ask you! God bless.

Lovely selection of 'J' words.
I'm with you - I love the smell of jasmine. It *smells* tropical ...if that makes sense!

I've never tried jasmine tea. I'm really not thinking I'd like it ... though I love the scent of the flowers!

The jade jewellery looks interesting!

How insightful of you to be planning so far ahead, by taking your March pictures for your J post way back in January. I'm usually running around on Tuesday evening trying to find anything I can think of with the weekly letter to take a picture of.

When I was in the arm over 30 years ago, one of my classmate was so bored in the class. He collected Jasmine flowers from the yard and hand picked the flowers to send to her girl friend to make Jasmine Tea. You may like to try it, the real one, you add dried Jasmine flowers with Chinese green tea.
