87124, 91384, 92119, 96757

Numbers!!! So many numbers!!! These are some of the zip codes that I've resided at. Most of them, anyway. The current one is the 87124 zip code here in Rio Rancho. The last one (96757) is my Molokai zip code. Perfect for the letter, "Z".

ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. Our Host, Mrs. Nesbitt hails from Great Britain. Says Mrs. Nesbitt: "Some have been with us from the very first round, others have joined in along the way! What fun! Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture! ABC Wednesday is now entering a 3rd year of fun! I'll raise a glass to you all!". We started with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "Z".

Zinnia

I always love that these flowers come in bright colors and just about anyone can grow them. They are very forgiving plants. The best part I like about them, though is that they have little flowers within the flower. I imagine that that is for the baby fairies to play in.

Zucchini Blossoms

What a bounty! These beauts are at the Hilo's Farmer's Market each Wednesday and Saturday. I wish, wish, wish, I had access to produce year round here in NM!

Zen

Although the word "Zen" represents an abstraction and therefore you could not provide a concrete image of it, I think we can all agree that an image of a Buddha could certainly represent that concept. I took this image at a Jackalope store, turned it into a slide, then exposed the image onto a SX-70 Polaroid Time Zero film and physically manipulated the image. None of this is done digitally except to scan it in my computer when I am done.

Sadly, we are at the end of the alphabet. Happily, we know that we are good for ONE more round of ABC Wednesday. Do come back and see what we are up to!

I totally agree on the zinnias, Paula--in fact, I posted a picture of one, too:) They really are so easy to grow, as you say; my favorites are the taller varieties in the bright colors like this one. I've never eaten zucchini blossoms, though I've seen them listed in recipes. Usually my zucchini grow so fast that I'm lucky to pick them before they get to the size of footballs:)

Zucchinin flowers are such a gorgeous gold colour, aren't they? Such a shame it's not possible to cut them. Not only do they not last five minutes, but it destroys the fruit!

about the only flowers that have really done well in my sand-pit of a yard; are zinnias. Love em.

I've always thought the zucchini blossoms were how the Navajo Squash Blossom design came about. They are so beautiful. Nifty post, as always!
