Seaside Sunset Dinners Molokai Style

One of the things that my husband and I promised each that we would do when we moved here to Molokai was to make sure we made it down to the beach often enough to enjoy the sunset. And, that's just what we did yesterday. We (OK, I) packed up a light picnic dinner and some drinks and drove over to the west end of the island (which is about 17 miles from our door) and there we are-at a beautiful beach. We were almost the only ones there. A few others were there, but very much so on the other side of the beach which was about 1/4 mile away. The sunsets this week have been intense with deep colors-most likely from the vog that we've had this week. You can learn more about vog here. I've posted a lot of these sunset images on my Facebook page, so if you're a Face-booker, drop by to see the spectacular colors.

Okay, I thought vog was a mistyping of fog but I had to google anyway and sure enough I was wrong.

We don't have volcanoes in Okahoma but we have a couple refineries and so sometimes we have great synthetic vog sunsets.
