Solar Eclipse

It's true that Hawaii was not in the most ideal position to view and experience the epic solar eclipse that just took place on August 21, 2017. However, in 2012, New Mexico was in a good spot to view a partial solar eclipse and these images are from that day. What we don't realize is how an eclipse affects the shadows that are cast-the shadows are little replicas of the eclipse itself. These shadows are referred to as, annular shadows. It's eerie, magical and incredibly fascinating all at the same time. And eerie. Did I mention that already?  ;-)

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Talking about shadows. Eclipse! I've seen those little moons cloud-like shadows all over.

We were too far north on the east coast to get the full effect of the moon crossing the sun. However, Patti captured her shadow under the kind of dark afternoon. Cool shadows you've captured!

I like your eerie photos! (Solar eclipses are eerie events, no matter how and where you look at them.)
