Pearls of Wisdom

"The pearl owes nothing to man. It is absolutely a gift of nature on which man cannot improve."

..quoted from the great gemologist of the late 19th century, George Fredrick Kunz.

Pearls: Symbolism, Myths, Meaning

"Pearls symbolize wisdom acquired through experience. They are believed to attract wealth and luck as well as offer protection. Known for their calming effect, pearls can balance one's karma, strengthen relationships, and keep children safe. The pearl is also said to symbolize the purity, generosity, integrity, and loyalty of its wearer" (you can  read more about the meanings of pearls here).

The ballet studio that I have been taking classes at for the past 22 1/2 years (Ballet Repertory Theater) recently did a production of, "Little Mermaid".  All the props used in the show had come back to the studio-some of which were housed in the classroom we were in. These pearls caught my eye and, of course, the cell phone camera came out to snatch this lovely little vignette!

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

There are a lot of pearls here! I know someone in our household who would love as many pearls as these to wear! Big shell and pearls make for an artistic treat!

Love the shell "housing" - so appropriate. Pearls remind me of the Queen of England!
