Corpus Christie

Corpus Christie.  © Paula Scott Molokai Girl Studio

If you were to see this Corpus of Christ in person, you would think that it was made out of porcelain. Surprisingly enough, it is made out of paper mache and was made in Mexico. It is just about life size and the arms and legs do articulate. In our parish of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we only see this Corpus once year on Good Friday. This isn't about idolatry or anything close to that. It is, however a visual reminder and example of what sacrifice really is.

For those who celebrate the Sacred aspect of Easter-have a Blessed Easter!
