In The Dead Of Winter

I suppose we are long overdue for an actual winter here in NM. But, here it is! There has been snow on the ground since Christmas and we haven't had the sunny days that we are used to. Just some moments of sunshine that falsely lulls us into thinking that everything will be as it usually is. This image was a brief moment in time when the sun peeked out to show me its stuff-it also belies the fact that there is still much snow on the ground-this spot just happened to not have it. I took full advantage of it! The first image has gone through some photo editing, the second is the same image completely unaltered.

Don't forget to slow down to stop and enjoy the beauty that is around you. If you say there is none or very little, I'll say that you haven't slowed down. Stop the busy. Take in some mindful, deep breaths. Smell the air. Feel it on your skin. See the sky and the clouds. Don't forget to go out and watch the colors of the sky as the sun sets. For life is too short to let all this beauty pass you by!

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

I like the way the real and shadow real blend making the grass outcropping seem much larger.
My post today was linked wrong and I don't know how it happened! Here is the right one http://www.looseleafnotes.com/2016/01/beam-me-up-2/

A pretty, soft shadow design. Enchanting.

It's dead but it's beautifully captured!

I agree that if you haven't found anything beautiful it;s likely you haven't slowed down. I do like your shadows and what caused them.

In the winter, a weak day of sun is better than no sun at all! Yours is the Land of Enchantment in any season, winter will go away soon enough (we hope that is :)

Lovely shot, Paula. I can feel the spring warmth conveyed in your altered version. When I first looked, and before I read, I thought I was looking at a delicate painting.
