Hello Silence My Old Friend

"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted
In my brain still remains
Within the sound of silence"

How many of us who are old enough to know the album, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel and hasn't played this song, "Sounds of Silence" over and over again? I still love it, decades later. The whole album is just incredible.

I know that you might be wondering what that object is that I photographed and I am embarrassed to say that I honestly don't know. I was at the Botanical Park a few weeks ago and someone had a table out with cactus plants and this one had a function in a culture somewhere, but for the life of me, I cannot remember. It happened so fast and I was on my way out of the park. But, it is cool presented in this manner, isn't it? Let's just go with that!

Join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Silence and troubled waters - Paul Simon had a bit of a dark view in his writings - with Artie's harmonies in singing the deeper songs adding a wonderful voice that gets beyond the despairing lyrics we know ("I am a rock, I am an Island", etc) and adding a nice richness that sounds sweet to our ears. Although for S&G I like most Fakin' It and the more rockin' A Hazy Shade of Winter

The shape of the item is akin to a volcano with a cooling shadow that renders moot the hot 'lava' within...

That's a lovely song and I like your photo also. Thank you for jogging my memory with a melodious song.
I also like "Kathy's Song" by Simon & Garfunkel.
Have a Wonderful Day!
Peace :)

That is so weird! But I like it, like the Simon and Garfunkel song too. I owned that album once.

yea, I know that song. And like you, I love it too.

The photo, it seems to be salt in the middle. Maybe some kind of container.
