You Are That

Soul of all souls, life of life-you are That
Seen and unseen, moving and unmoving-you are That
The road that leads to the City is endless;
Go without head or feet
And you'll already be there.
What else could you be?
You are That.

When you were a child, what did you think you were going to be at the age you at at now?

When you were a teenager, what did you think you would be at your age now?

I would contend that it is very difficult for younger people such as children and young adults (and even some older adults) to imagine what they will become. Oh, granted there are always exceptions to this, but for most of us, we just don't know and cannot even imagine. I certainly would not have guessed that I would be an artist working in a handful of mediums. Granted, I don't make a living doing this, but this is indeed what I am.

I sure would've liked to have had the chance to hang out with Rumi-such wisdom and insight! Wouldn't you? There are so many questions I'd like to ask-although I would be content to just hangout and observe in silence, really.

Are we ever content with who we are? I suppose it doesn't matter if we are or aren't. Because,

you are That

In the meantime, join us as a group of us (yes-there are many of us!) from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Lovely scallop shell shape for a font - artistic! I have often wondered how things would be different without the wheelchair...but have to consider that if I were to be able to run up a flight of steps three at a time, there wouldn't be Patti, the kids, the cat and all of our friends in my life now. So, whatever the issues in my past, I'd never want to change! Life, now, is good...

Hello my Molokai Girl,

OMG! Scallop shells reminds me of summer.

I wish I am a rich farmer's wife when I was a young girl. LoL*

Happy SSS.

It's interesting to look back and remember what our dreams were when we were kids. Thanks clicking on the memory button in my brain. ;))

Our font isn't shell-shaped, but Father uses a shell to pour the water over those being baptized. As to the age I am, I wondered if I'd live to age 40. Then at 60, I still never thought I'd be 75! Saying the number still rather startles me.

I thought I'd be an old lady living in Science Fiction times and that my life would be all but over. But it's not. I had the wrong link for the SSS. Should be

As a child he is believed to come to never be greater, that's like a fantasy!
