Free Show!!

Oh, I've been wanting to photograph this for a long time. I usually see it when I take a certain route from downtown Albuquerque back to my home in Rio Rancho. It's a scenic route and the maximum speed for most of that trip is 25 mph. However, it does take you through wonderful neighborhoods with sprawling ranches and the like. Anyway, this wall is part of a private residence right off of the main road which is Rio Grande Blvd. Usually, when I drive by it in the late afternoon, I've no time to stop and photograph it.

Today, I did. Oh, happy day! Oh, thank you, cell phone for having a camera in it!

Here's a close up of one of the first guy on the right side of the image:

I am grateful that this household likes art enough to share it with everyone so publicly it is on a well-traveled road. And, as far as I know, no one has tried to deface it or do graffiti on it. Yay!

Remember that April 22nd is Earth Day. First one was back in 1970. So hard to believe that it's been around that long! LOL! Now I feel old!

On Saturday, I'll be headed over to the Esther Bone Library to see what Earth Day activities they've got going on. I did a special display in the front window there of art made from recycled things (by different artists). You can click on the link to find out more about it.

Happy Earth Day, everybody!

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted!

Yes, Happy Earth Day. What a wonderful route to follow. This artwork is wonderful and so nicely shared with all who pass. I bet there is more in the area and many more homes with those fabulous stucco walls, Fabulous shadow capture. genie

These sculptures offer maniacal metal mirth as we love the shapes in subject and shadow too! The birds are lovely and seem to be in motion by 'flying' on the walls. A nice set of views that are perfect for the slower travel of 25 mph. We would miss these at freeway speeds...art for the masses to enjoy!

An impressive wall of art! And what dramatic, defined shadows they cast!
