Extra Large, Please....

Fallen Cottonwood~Paula Scott 2013

No, I'm not talking about super-sizing my meal-in fact I really don't do fast foods. I'm talking about those small, seemingly insignificant things in your everyday life that perhaps went unnoticed. So, don't forget to look down at the path that you are walking on. It is full of wonderful treasures.

NO DEGREES

"It is completely senseless to think about what comes after death, about heaven, paradise. It is not necessary to ask questions about what we become after this life. Such questions are the fruit of egoism, and torment people unnecessarily.
Here-and-now contains eternity.

To practice zazen-seated Zen meditation, here and now is to practice the true teaching of the Buddha. There are no degrees or steps, zazen itself is satori (enlightenment experience), here and now we are Buddha."

~Taisen Deshimaru (from, the Tao of Now)

And as my yoga teacher Chris would say, "Let's just sit here for a few minutes with our eyes closed and cogitate that."

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2012 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account.

The fallen leaf is seen as insignificant by most, of no use and unproductive. Yet despite all, it leaves an artistic shadow, bold and strong on its underside. A work of art even away from the tree...we often weigh ourselves down with concern - we need to refocus and relent in meditation so our minds will become less of concern and cleared so we may focus better. Nice!

It's such a beautiful photo. And to think that nature does this on a regular basis. Mind you, it takes a good photographer like you to give it that extra touch! :-)

Greetings from London.
