YERK
(image from the Boston Pain Care site)
Yerk: a sudden, or quick twist thrust or motion; a jerk. Sounds (and feels) painful!! No yerking for any of you out there, OK?
YEAR
Year: the orbital period of the Earth moving around the sun.
Having just celebrated the new year, I would be remiss to not include it here! Not to mention, that we just celebrated a Yule too.
YAUD
Yaud: an old, worn out mare. I can't testify that my image of the horses here is really a yaud, but it will have to suffice! I guess I haven't come across a yaud in the past few years.
I hope that your Yuletide celebration was just as joyous as the celebration of the new year! Isn't it hard to believe that we are about to head off in to ABC Wednesday Round 12???? One more to go and we are there.

Yaud...I sometimes feel like that...(:0)
Yerk sounds like a Scandinavian Jerk.
Love the words you come up with Paula.
Wishing you a wonderful New Year.
I didn't know the word 'yaud', but now know that I am this.
love your 'y' words, hadn't heard 'yabbering' before, nor 'yerk'!
love the way those words flow across my tongue!
a happy, peaceful new year is wished for you!
I didn't know "yerk" was the same as "jerk." Or that a "yaud" was an old mare. But I DO know to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to you Paula! May the best be yet to come.

I've enjoyed ALL you're informative posts this round. Yaud and and yerk are sure new to me. Happy new year.

If there's an award for the most unique ABC entries, I would give it to you every week Paula.
