PDC=Pretty Darned Cool!

Yep. That's what I thought it was when I took this photo. The wonderful spray art was what attracted me to begin with, but as I was clicking away,  I saw the wonderful, long and extremely exaggerated shadows cast by the rivets on this tank.

This tank sits just off the I 25 freeway just south of the La Bajada hill. Every time I drove by it, I kept saying to myself to plan on stopping on the way home to photograph it. Finally, I remembered to take the exit that I needed to to get the job done. The artwork on the tank changes out from time to time and there is a phone number that you can call to have the artist do spray art on whatever giant substrate you have handy!

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2011 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account.

The big tanks so often are am inglorious blue, gray and/or tan - not so much style, merely function. Yet here, the huge industrial icon is alive, now a giant canvas for outstanding southwestern art. Rivets and bolts now are exciting and colorful detailing. Glad you got off of I-25 for this capture!

Graciousness... I been analyzing what was this art? Until I read it's a tank.

Absolutely precious art. Tank became an eye candy.

Happy SSS...

It's a different take on SSS and not less beautiful because of it. I loved the detail you pointed out, too.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.
