Elmo Elaborates Extensively on Elegant Edenite

ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. Over time, others have joined in to help host this wonderful and informative meme. We are now in our ELEVENTH round with 'Captain Roger' at the helm! Some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "E".

ENDOCARP

Endocarp: (once again from Wikipedia): is a botanical term for the inside layer of the pericarp (or fruit), which directly surrounds the seeds.

EXOCARP
(image from Wikipedia)

OK, but you CAN'T talk about endocarp without including the whole fruit!! Because, then there is the exocarp, the endosperm, and the embryo.

Hmmmmm....I'm thinking the next time you bite into that peach or nectarine, you'll look at it with a whole new perspective (and knowledge if you weren't a botanist or took botany).

EDENITE

(yes, yes...once again, the image and info is from Wikipedia)

Edenite has been found primarily in metamorphic rocks, occurring in pods of other magnesium rich minerals within a marble formation or with garnet rich lherzolites from deep within the Earth's crust.[4][5] Thus, finding edenite in the field can indicate high temperature regional metamorphism of the surrounding rocks.

ECRU

Ecru: a greyish pale kind of yellow color-kind of beige but with no red in it if you can imagine that. Linen is somewhat of an ecru color.

Don't you just love how that word sounds?

Ecru.

Bless you!

:  )

Sorry....I couldn't resist!

P.S. I am at home in Hawaii with limited access to 'pooters'! I might not be able to leave comments very readily at your site, but I hope that doesn't stop you from leaving me comments! They are always appreciated!
