I Wonder as I Wander...

Most certainly a celebration of the mundane-some travel 'artifacts' in someone's home casting some rather intriguing shadows. At least, I'd like to think that it is intriguing.

Shaman's Shadow

That's what this one is to me. Half man, half deer. Medicine man. Mystery. Or, is it just art in a sculpture garden? I'll leave you to wonder and ponder.

"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see." (Martin Luther King)

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2011 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

Well you've left me wondering and imagining. Sometimes the real thing is so different from what we've invisioned casting the shadow!

The mundane and ordinary are beautiful despite what much of the modern world thinks - the simple lady with her pot offers an almost wry look, the sun and shadow falling of her beautiful visage...the grasshopper leaves a faint shadow, ordinary it may seem - but the beauty of shape and line is wonderful here, almost like charcoal on canvas - so wonderful!

Intriguing pieces of art! Somehow the first one has a Buddha connection and yet it is not the traditional image! The second one reminds me of some of the Egyptian armed figures on murals!

Clever shadows. That second shot is rather spooky!

I find the shadow in the stone bowl intriguing. Is the statuette mixing up some shadows for a drink? Shadow tortillas? Hmm...
