The Albuquerque Weekly Alibi

Imagine having to come up with an alibi every week!

However, in this case, it's not such a bad thing! The Weekly Alibi is a free publication that is community based. This shot was taken right outside the window (if that's what it should be called-it's glass block) of their office. The shadow is cast from a stylized 'awning'.

And, a lovely wooden bridge located in the Botanical Garden in Albuquerque. It was a perfect day when I went-sunny, no wind, and somewhat warm! Not bad for being in the dead of winter when this shot was taken.

"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see." (Martin Luther King)

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Shadow Shot Sunday 2. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2011 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

I just realized as I was scheduling this post to be published on Sat., March 3rd, that it will be Girl's Day. It is also known as the Japanese Doll Festival. My niece is now in Japan teaching English, so I am hoping she posts images of Girl's Day in Japan on her blog. I hope you have a happy girl's day! Unless, of course, you're not a girl.

Great shadow shots for the day as always, Paula! I do love the shadow patterns in the second shot! Superb! Enjoy your weekend and Happy Girls Day to you! I worked for a Japanese company until I retired and really enjoyed learning about their culture. Wonderful people!

I love that first shot and I love glass brick. I'm thinking it gained popularity in the 50s.

Wonderful shadows.
I always wanted a house that had some glass brick. So cool looking!

The old styles of the southwest are nice, yet the modern art of shadows makes your NM domicile look so great! The Alibi is hopefully a great read, and if not, its office offers a great look! Fine winter shots...

OH boy oh boy! Cool shadows. I better go check out the activities in downtown Phoenix in case we're having something to do with the Japanese Doll Festival. We have a beautiful friendship garden downtown...problem is lovely weather but dratted allergens in the air.

I love both of these. That first one looks like it has a story to tell, and the second is such a wonderful compilation of patterns. Nice!

Sunny greetings from Helsinki!

I like both of them, but that first one is really cool! Stylized awning? I first thought it was some sort of arched wrought iron railing. Both are very cool shots!

Peace

ha ha~~ We think we'd get exhausted coming up with an alibi every week! What a great name for a paper....and what great shadows their windows make. Love the red, the yellow name and the curvy shadows, makes for a striking shadow shot :) Have a great day Paula!!
