She Can't Find Her Keys...

(are you old enough to remember that song from the 1960's? It was written by Paul Peterson).

ABC Wednesday is a word meme with participants from around the world. This fabulous meme was created and hosted by Mrs. Denise Nesbitt who hails from Great Britain. Over time, others have joined in to help host this wonderful and informative meme. We are now in our NINTH round! Some of the participants have been with this from the very first round; others have joined in along the way. Each week we are taken across the globe to see the varied and exciting contributions people have taken the time to discover and capture. We start with the letter, "A" and each week we post something in regards to the next letter of the alphabet. This week's letter is, "K".

KEYS

Do you have a drawer full of keys that you don't know where or what many of them go to? We do. And, I haven't the courage to throw them out in case it is the one key that I needed to unlock something even if I don't know what that something is.

KEWPIE DOLL

Even if you haven't encountered these in your personal life, I'm sure the image looks familiar to you. Kewpie dolls. "Their name, often shortened to "Kewpies", is derived from "cupid",[1] the Roman god of beauty and – as Eros is the Greek version of Cupid – erotic love. Kewpie dolls and figurines are based on comical strip-like illustrations by Rose O'Neill that appeared in Ladies' Home Journal in 1909."-(from Wikipedia)

KNOBS

Not your ordinary image of a knob, but a modern day version of it. These live on my cabinets in my kitchen. Functional elegance, that's what I call it.

Oh my goodness, yes, keys! And just the other day, I accidentally discovered that the key to my brother's condo fits my house! How funny is that?
And kewpie dolls, always "winning" them at fairs! Lots of memories.

When we moved after 41 years in the same house we had a plethera of keys. Have to admit I don't know what most of them are used for but we put them all in a box and they have been in residence for 4 years now in our new home.
TOTALLY CRAZY...what good are they?

Oh yes, keys - Charles has had a passion for keys all his life. I am just happy if they open the right door.

Kewpie dolls brought back a lot of memories...

Yes I have also a lot of keys. Fortunately they have labels Some are of our neighbour in case she is away and something happens.
Thanks for your visit. You are right : kangaroos are not here in Holland, only in the zoo. I myself have never seen the big ones, only the small ones.

Great choice for K. Every time I throw anything away, I realize later I shouldn't have. I'm particularly nervous about throwing out keys.

I think keys have a life of their own, secret and communal. I wonder why we can never throw them away.

I make it a habit to only keep keys that I know what they unlock. And my house keys... I always get the cute ones with butterflies, Disney princesses on them. No one carries them off, I'm the only one who is not embarrassed to be seen with them on my keychain. ; )

I do remember that song! And I, too, hang on to keys even after the lock as gone on - you just never know for sure. :) Kewpie's cutie and I love those beautiful 'knobs'.

I was here earlier in the week, but didn't let you know. I do have a story about keys. I have been doing some horse trading lately. I got rid of the old Ford Focus and bought a new one. Then, I sold the Van and bought a Ranger, then sold that after 1 month and bought a pickup. The problem is, all Fords, all the keys lookm alike. I don't know whichn obnes fit which car and whether or not it was one that I sold???!!!
On top of that, I isnstalled a new French Door to our patio and got this apartment in T or C after I sold the RV, so, a bunch of keys there for doors too. I'm screwed! I hate carrying keys anyway and i rarely lock anything, (don't tell that to strangers).

Anyway, hope all is good with you. Be back in November.

Peace
