The Scream and the Green Light

Believe it or not, these two 'toys' live in my kitchen! I have a lot of art in my kitchen since I spend a lot of time in there making meals and such. I have funky toys in my studio space too sitting up on the shelves. They are reminders for me to not take things quite too seriously...

I LIKE TO CALL THIS ONE, "THE SCREAM"

My cell phone camera did the courtesy again. I saw shadows... it was handy. What can I say? The monkey is a wind up toy and when you wind him up, he plays the cymbals. How entertaining is that?

The Green Light

Sitting on a picnic table in Red Rocks Crossing in Sedona waiting for a friend and enjoying the warm sunshine. My water bottle cast the most blingy kind of shadow thing. I'll stop at nothing, I tell you!

As promised, I do have some images posted from the Arizona trip I took a few weeks ago. They are on my Flickr Photostream site. One set is of some spray art done in an abandoned swimming pool in a 'ghost town' off of the I-40. That set was done on my cell phone. I did take other images at that site with the big daddy Nikon that I have, but haven't uploaded those yet. There is also a set on some Native American ruins (Palanki and Honanki) near the Sedona/Cottonwood area. Those were taken on said big daddy Nikon camera.

Every week, a group of us from around the world post our shadow shots over at Hey Harriet. Entertain your muse and be amused by stopping by to see what others have posted! You can view all of my 2010 Shadow Shot Sunday images on my Flickr account. Click here to view them.

The screamer is probably saying. "Oh NO, Not green chile again!!!" (Would never say that at my house)
I love the green light. That is so cool. You and that magic camera. Good stuff Paula.

Peace

The scream shows us that holding all the frustrations in carries its own frustrations for s. Better to scream once, momentarily allowing us to focus to what's on hand. In a fun way :>)

The light of green is outstanding - an imaginative night vision green that looks to be as if the universe is forming - or a meteorite breaking apart upon atmospheric reentry. Lovely shadowy art today from sublime to mysterious - and such wonderful art!

I find the Green Light photo much more relaxing than The Scream!

WELCOME THE SHADOWS

Welcome the shadows surrounding your life,
Treat them as lover or husband or wife;
Welcome them in as you would one who’s dear;
Hug them, embrace them without any fear;
Honor, respect them, and give them their due,
For shadow and light are both parts of you.

you dance
in shadows and light....
embracing the one hundred dualities of life...
you become as boundless as the sky.

Haha! I like your toys! I have toys scaterred about the house also as they're such cheery little things. The screaming one is wild! And that second shot is very cool!

And thanks so much for your kind words about my Botanical prints! I love the idea of them being thought of as healing art. I'm off to visit your FB now :)

With these two photos you reminded me of the incredible little universes we can see when we stop and look!
I lived in Hawaii in the seventies and visited Moloka'i for a couple of days. You are the first person I have ever "met" who was born there.
