8th grade school photo

My baby boy now! Posted by Picasa Hard to beleive that the preemie child who weighed only 4 lbs. 1/2 oz. when I brought him home from the hospital has grown into this towering young man who now weighs in at about 150 lbs.! They say the teenage years are the hardest on a parent and I truly agree. They are learning to pull away from their parents in preparation for striking it out on their own as young adults. With that comes behavior that is still child-like and impetuous. Yet the mistakes they can make from being too impetuous now have farther reaching consequences than those mistakes made at an earlier age.

John John

My baby boy 14 years ago... Posted by Picasa Photo taken in May, 1998 (I think), which puts him at about 7 months old. Mark was in Saudi when I took this. Even John likes this photo of himself!

Picture me...

Yah, well, this is me. Such as it is. Funny how we don't like to see ourselves the way we are, this is no exception. Perhaps I'll post a "better" one at a later date in the name of vanity. Posted by Picasa

Las Semanas Project

Met with my art friends today; we are all trying to create art at least once a week for ourselves. The goal is to have around 52 works completed at the end of the year (hence the name Las Semanas). I always feel inspired and energized when we get together! The different artistic styles and projects that we all choose to work on provides endless fodder for the imagination! Tracy's dolls are incredible and fascinating; I wonder if what she comes up with is strictly intuitive, or orchestrated with intent? And, Raine's work! Always a jaw dropper for me, and we get our heads spinning in a tizzy thinking of other possibilities. If we were roommates, we'd never get any rest. Had to stop by Michael's on the way home to pick up the magazine, "Doll Quarterly" where our fearless leader, Leighanna Light is published. I had the other magazines that she was in, but somehow, missed getting this one. Check her out in Somerset magazine's issue of "Workshop" too. Can't remember what the names of the other publications were, but I have them!

Whoa! I didn't know this could be so easy. Can't wait to get more posted, but will have to wait as my hari needs to be dried, dishes to do, and get things ready for tomorrw. Life IS about surving the mundane...
